Automotive Sales Consultant
Greenway Ford | CDJR | GMC, a family-owned dealership in Morris, IL since 1967, is expanding and looking for both entry-level and experienced Sales Consultants to join our growing team. We’re seeking ambitious, results-driven professionals eager to thrive in a dynamic sales environment and meet the demands of a rapidly growing customer base.

As a Sales Consultant at Greenway, you’ll leverage your sales and customer service expertise to close deals and grow a successful career. Compensation: $50,000 - $110,000+ annually (based on weekly salary + commissions), full-time

Schedule: 40+ hours per week, Monday through Saturday (closed Sundays, with one day off between Monday and Friday)
Job Responsibilities

Promptly engage all inbound leads—including text messages, video, email, phone calls, internet inquiries, walk-ins, and social media—using the CRM and other dealership technologies.
Greet customers in a professional, friendly manner and actively listen to understand their needs, preferences, and buying motivations.
Demonstrate in-depth product knowledge to guide customers through their options, ensuring a high-quality, tailored sales experience.
Manage every stage of the sales process from initial client engagement to the vehicle delivery, creating a seamless customer journey.
Conduct test drives and provide product demonstrations to showcase the value and features of vehicles.
Adhere to the dealership’s established sales process, ensuring consistency in service and customer experience.
Use digital tools (CRM, applications, iPads, social media) to enhance sales efficiency, foster customer rapport, and track customer interactions.
Accurately maintain lead data in the CRM, ensuring all customer details are up-to-date for effective follow-up and recordkeeping.
Conduct post-sale follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction, address any questions, and foster long-term relationships.
Stay informed on new products, market trends, and certifications to maintain expert knowledge and provide customers with current information.
Required to ensure all OEM sales training and certifications are complete.
Collaborate with sales leadership to achieve individual and team goals, continuously working to increase close rates and sales performance.
Meet or exceed dealership standards for Customer Service Index, Gross Average, and monthly unit sales.
Assist in the upkeep and presentation of the dealership lot, maintaining vehicle displays and inventory appearance.
Experience, Training, and Certification

Previous experience in sales, education, or formal sales training is beneficial but not required
Familiarity with VinSolutions CRM is advantageous
Sales experience in for Ford, CDJR, or GMC vehicle lines are highly valued

Job Responsibilities

Perform vehicle pickup and delivery for customers.
Use OEM systems to coordinate and facilitate seamless customer vehicle pick-up and drop-off services.
Provide shuttle services to transport service and sales customers as needed.
Answer incoming service appointment calls and schedule appointments in the dealership management system.
Confirm service appointments and coordinate vehicle pick-up and delivery with customers in advance, using phone calls and/or text messaging.
Manage and coordinate the dealership loaner fleet, ensuring proper documentation and organization of rental forms.
Manage all customer vehicle rental forms.
Monitor and track the status of the dealership loaner fleet to maintain availability and readiness.
Organize and file service repair orders while ensuring accurate maintenance of service records.
Conduct follow-up calls with service customers to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns or feedback.
Assist with lot maintenance, including vehicle organization, fueling, washing, and other related tasks.
Retrieve and deliver parts for the parts and service departments.
Deliver sold vehicles to customers on behalf of the sales department.
Support the used car department with the transportation of vehicles, including pickups and drop-offs from Manheim auctions.
Be prepared to work outdoors in all kinds of weather—rain, snow, sunshine, or cold days—dress comfortably and appropriately (while maintaining a professional appearance) for the conditions
Complete all required dealership and OEM training programs.
Execute additional tasks as assigned by management to support dealership operations.
Other Basic Requirements:

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum age of 18 years.

Proven background in providing excellent customer service.
Proficient with computers and smartphone applications, with strong organizational and follow-up abilities.
Able to read, understand, and follow instructions and information effectively.
Skilled at identifying and solving problems efficiently.
Previous dealership experience is a plus.

Provide Clear Updates: Keep customers informed with timely and detailed updates about vehicle diagnostics, repair progress, and parts availability.
Educate and Guide: Explain completed services, charges, and warranty claims. Offer expert recommendations for maintenance and repair services to enhance vehicle performance.
Collaborate with the Team: Partner with technicians, parts personnel, and sales teams to ensure accurate diagnoses, timely repairs, and vehicles that are fixed right the first time.
Leverage Technology and Tools: Utilize dealership technology, equipment, and OEM resources to optimize the service process and enhance the customer experience.
Upsell with Transparency: Recommend additional services or repairs based on thorough diagnostics, inspections, and manufacturer-recommended maintenance. Provide accurate and transparent quotes.
Navigate Warranty Processes: Manage warranty claims by securing approvals from providers and ensuring all required documentation is submitted accurately and on time.
Ensure Compliance: Adhere to all OEM, warranty, and dealership standards for documentation, ensuring repair orders are complete and compliant.
Pursue Ongoing Training: Stay proactive in completing OEM training programs, maintaining certifications, and keeping up with the latest industry advancements.
Master Time Management: Effectively prioritize and manage tasks to meet customer expectations and dealership goals.
Stay Informed and Adaptable: Keep up-to-date with changes in factory programs, dealership objectives, and evolving market trends to maintain a competitive edge.
Support Dealership Goals: Take on additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by management to contribute to the overall success of the team.
